Now there is always a story with Jocasi, so let me take you back to the start if I may...
Just OVER 8 years ago On a trip to Indonesia, the story of Jocasi took shape. We met a local Artisan who told us, over a few Bintang beers, a interesting interesting story...
It was regarding an iconic and practical style of bag which the local fisherman had been using for hundreds of years. Before motorbikes, and cars, they had to travel to the coast to go fishing, then bring their catch backin this specially designed bamboo bag called a KEPIS which, due to its boat shaped design, allowed the fish to be kept aired and fresh for their long arduous return journey.
With the help of our compadre, we adapted the shape using leather. On our return to our homecity, London, we took the bag, along with our other designs which had been selling in boutiques, to TOPSHOP Oxford Street. Arguably the No1 fashion store on the planet.
The Kepis was a smash.
We are a born and bred London brand.
We now supply supply some of the most exclusive boutiques around the world. Award Winning Boutiques such as The Dressing Room, St Albans, have stocked us for many years. And it's not just in the UK... Internationally, we are fortunate to supply some wicked stores in GERMANY, the USA and SCANDINAVIA. Our Agents in Italy, Veronelli, have positioned us in some terrific stores.
This is another emerging market for Jocasi.
We have recently linked up with the premier Agents in Australia, to finally satisfy the demand for Jocasi in this coolest of countries, with launches of Jocasi in Jan 2010 in some of the most high profile boutiques in the country..
JAPAN is where Jocasi has terrific potential, but a tough nut to crack. We already supply seriously exclusive names such as UNITED ARROWS, alongside a whole bunch of the smartest boutiques in this highly fashion concious country..
